Located between the streets of Hamilton and 19^th, the Maple Neighborhood brings to Costa Mesa a great sense of personality and charisma in a multifaceted environment. With a combination of neighbors who have recently moved to Maple and residents who have been in the area for some time, Maple offers diverse and welcoming surroundings. Since 2000, The Crossing Church has partnered with the community, impacting the lives of numerous children through the Maple Learning Center. As an after-school program, the center is designed to assist students with their homework and provide tools to enhance their math and reading skills.

In May 2007, Mika began meeting with a group of neighbors to discuss their ideas for the neighborhood, forming what became the Maple Neighborhood Action Committee. In the fall of 2008 Mika assumed the administration of the Maple Learning Center and still partners closely with The Crossing on neighborhood activities.  The Maple Learning Center has hosted health education classes, healthy marriage classes, English classes, after school youth programs and countless community events!
